The Engleberger House

Argenta ( North Little Rock ), Arkansas

c:1895

 Built in c:1895 by Alonzo (Lonnie) Clayton whom at age 15 won the 1892 Kentucky Derby forever marking his place in history.

Lonnie  and his family lived in the residence from 1895 to 1899.

 For the next several years the house exchanged hands many times until 1912 when it was purchased by  Joseph Engleberger a saloon and restaurant owner.

 Mr. Engleberger and his family whom are German-Swiss  immigrants settled in Argenta in the early 1880’s.

 The home is currently occupied by descendants of Mr. Engleberger.
